A fun event to help restore our very own South Bend Park!Sustainable Lakewood, EcoAddendum (Eco-A) and councilwoman Carla Smith are hosting the first annual Atlanta Kudzu Festival in South Bend Park! Join us on Saturday, September 24 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. to raise funds towards restoring the park's 60-acre forest as well as walking and biking trails. The event will include nature hikes to explore South Bend's abundant, natural space and workshops to learn creative ways to eradicate the kudzu vine.
We need your help to preserve this restorative green space for Lakewood Heights and its surrounding communities! Click the images for tickets!
What needs improvement?LandscapeMuch of the trails are in need of major maintenance to restore clear pathways throughout the park. Certain areas are so overgrown with grass that their as tall as some visitors!
TrailsOur goal is to reclaim and reforest the park's forest, including the removal of invasive plants (such as kudzu) that are a threat to native plant life and the animals who make their home among them.
Activities the whole community will enjoy! |
Where is South Bend Park?South Bend is located just down the street from Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta (Lakewood Avenue) across from Lakewood Stadium.
